Wooden missal stand with scissor lock structure and polylobed cut-outs in the feet.
The front is decorated with polychrome plant and flower motifs in high relief, organised symmetrically around a central rosette on a lacquered red background, while the back is plain.
This piece, intended to support the missal, presents characteristics common to pieces of furniture, datable from the same chronological period, produced in the coastal regions of India for the Portuguese market with a view to their use in a sacral context, both in India and Portugal.
